Easy Air Fryer Salmon
Air fryer salmon is useful when you want crisp edges without heating a full oven. A simple mix of garlic, smoked paprika and olive oil seasons the fish while the circulating heat cooks the outside quickly and leaves the center moist.
Pat the fillets dry and arrange them with room around each piece. Start checking early if the fillets are thin; salmon continues to cook slightly after it leaves the basket.
Why Salmon Is One of the Easiest Air-Fryer Proteins
- Salmon cooks quickly in circulating heat, which makes it easier to brown the surface without a long oven preheat.
- Patting the fillets dry before oiling them improves browning and helps the seasoning stick.
- Smoked paprika, dill and garlic add flavor without covering up the salmon itself.
- A squeeze of lemon at the table cuts through the richness and keeps the finished fish tasting fresh.

Notes
Dry Salmon Browns Better
Patting the surface dry before adding oil and seasoning helps the outside roast instead of steam. It also keeps the spice mixture from sliding off the fillet.
Thickness Matters More Than the Timer
An eight-minute fillet can be perfect in one batch and underdone in another if the pieces are thicker. Start checking early and use the thickest part of the salmon as your guide.
Skin-Side Down Is the Easy Route
If your fillets have skin, place that side against the basket and leave it there. The skin acts as a little buffer from the strongest heat and there is no need to flip the fish.
Finish With Lemon After Cooking
Fresh lemon is brightest when it goes on after the salmon leaves the air fryer. Squeezing it on before cooking can make the surface wetter and slow browning.
