Editorial Policy

CookPassport is committed to useful, original, clearly presented recipe content. This policy explains the standards we use when creating, reviewing, updating, and correcting our articles.

Editorial Standards

We prioritize clarity, practical value, and consistency. A recipe article should give a home cook enough information to understand the method, identify likely trouble spots, choose workable substitutions when appropriate, and make informed decisions while cooking.

Originality and Added Value

CookPassport does not aim to publish generic instructions with only minor changes. Each recipe should add recipe-specific guidance through technique notes, texture cues, timing adjustments, substitutions, storage notes, serving ideas, cultural or contextual information when relevant, and practical troubleshooting.

Recipe Review

Before publication or major revision, we review the relationship between the ingredient list and the instructions, cooking temperatures, timing, serving information, recipe-card data, and obvious food-safety issues. Where appropriate, we add practical notes that explain why an ingredient, technique, or sequence matters.

Testing and Verification

CookPassport does not imply that every recipe has been physically tested unless the page specifically says so. When a recipe has not been physically tested, we focus the editorial review on method logic, ingredient compatibility, timing plausibility, food-safety guidance, and internal consistency. If additional testing or reader feedback reveals a better method, the article may be updated.

Food Safety

Where relevant, we include commonly accepted food-safety temperatures and handling guidance. Readers should use appropriate kitchen judgment, safe storage practices, and a food thermometer when needed.

Nutrition Estimates

Nutrition values are estimates and may change with brands, substitutions, exact quantities, serving size, and preparation method. They are provided for general informational purposes and are not medical advice.

Corrections and Updates

If we identify a meaningful error, unclear instruction, outdated recommendation, or misleading statement, we may revise the article. Minor edits may be made for clarity, spelling, formatting, or readability without a separate correction notice.

Reader Feedback

Readers can report possible errors or suggest clarifications through our Contact page. Specific, practical feedback is reviewed and may be incorporated into future updates.
